I just really loved these giant buttons, found at Michael's.

The KC is for the guest of honor (from Michael's).The cute part is that not only does her name start with a K, her husband's name starts with a K, and all of her husband's sibling's names start with K's as well (5 KC's in total). I think what we are all wondering is if the soon to be parents are gonna carry on the tradition to their newborn. We'll see!

Here's the dessert table from the Baby Shower. First, thanks so much to Bakerella for the inspiration and recipe for the cake pops!

The rice krispie buttons were also supposed to be on sticks but that didn't work out so well. Too heavy I think.

I acquired a large amount of sherry glasses for the mini milk shakes, we ended up not serving them because everyone was too sugar'd out. But they still looked cute and the few of us setting up for the shower enjoyed them! They were adorned with a mini oreo and a mini straw.

(photos by fellow milk shake drinker Jess Epstein)

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.offwhitewedding.net/journal/2010/3/4/big-round-balloons.html"><rss:title>Big Round Balloons</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.offwhitewedding.net/journal/2010/3/4/big-round-balloons.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>big round balloons decor shower</dc:subject>

Would you believe me if I said that I was was still recovering from a baby shower four days ago!?! It was great but today was the first day I didn't wake up exhausted. So silly.

Every event, every wedding, every shower, I learn something (s) new.

Here's a photo from the shower. I used the ever popular 3' balloons. Here's the deal on these. In my findings...at least in San Francisco, the price quotes were for $30 a balloon, they take a lot of helium. Yikes. Pricing it further, the balloons without helium cost $5 a pop everywhere I looked. I decided to rent a helium tank. 55cf (cubic feet) helium tanks fill about three-four 3' balloons. And that tank was $30. An 88cf fills about six 3' balloons and was about $50. I got the tank and balloons from SF Party.

I thought that these beautiful balloons would be enough decoration so I would need little else to create a good impact and ambiance. I went with the 88cf tank, got five, 3' balloons and about 10 smaller ones for other areas of the party space. It came out to about $80 which is pricey for decor I know but I figured it was worth it! Everyone loved them and they looked great in the space.

As an additional note. You really need two people to blow these up. Tying them after they are blown up will tear up your fingers ( good to switch off) and they will escape if you don't have someone else there holding them. I also used thick yarn as the string just to do something different.

I am excited to share more details about this shower in the next few days. Including a DIY for the favors!

A lot of people do Friday Roundups...I am jumping on the (maybe slightly played out) bandwagon but I'll probably switch the day or something....

A couple things:

Macaron on a stick. Bravo Tartlette. Bravo.

A pretty cool "slightly indie wedding playlist"

I heard of groom's cake but what about groom's cupcakes? Butch Bakery = Awesome.

The best DIY I've seen in awhile.

I have ridiculously talented friends. Really. Thank goodness one of them blogs.

I am co-throwing a shower next weekend. My tasks include Decor, Favors, and Dessert Table. Thanks to Abbey Party Rental for not charging me an arm and a leg to achieve the desired look.

Oh, yeah. What is the deal with people who don't RSVP? Seriously! I guess you don't quite get it until you throw an official party with invites but still... R.S.V.P. !!!! You'll save your hostess serious annoyance.

I am currently obsessed with Blue Bottle Coffee and would like for them to cater my wedding.

Congrats to Head vs. Heart for her pre-launch of Seamless Paperie.

On a serious note, a photographer friend was asked to Haiti to promote Help for Orphans. See the amazing images here.
