Shower Decor

As posted before I mainly used balloons for the shower decor but here are a few other details...

main food table decor and a few game prizes wrapped in fabric and ribbon.

I just really loved these giant buttons, found at Michael's.

The KC is for the guest of honor (from Michael's).The cute part is that not only does her name start with a K, her husband's name starts with a K, and all of her husband's sibling's names start with K's as well (5 KC's in total). I think what we are all wondering is if the soon to be parents are gonna carry on the tradition to their newborn. We'll see!

Big Round Balloons

Would you believe me if I said that I was was still recovering from a baby shower four days ago!?! It was great but today was the first day I didn't wake up exhausted. So silly.

Every event, every wedding, every shower, I learn something (s) new.

Here's a photo from the shower. I used the ever popular 3' balloons. Here's the deal on these. In my findings...at least in San Francisco, the price quotes were for $30 a balloon, they take a lot of helium. Yikes. Pricing it further, the balloons without helium cost $5 a pop everywhere I looked. I decided to rent a helium tank. 55cf (cubic feet) helium tanks fill about three-four 3' balloons. And that tank was $30. An 88cf fills about six 3' balloons and was about $50. I got the tank and balloons from SF Party

I thought that these beautiful balloons would be enough decoration so I would need little else to create a good impact and ambiance. I went with the 88cf tank, got five, 3' balloons and about 10 smaller ones for other areas of the party space. It came out to about $80 which is pricey for decor I know but I figured it was worth it! Everyone loved them and they looked great in the space.

As an additional note. You really need two people to blow these up. Tying them after they are blown up will tear up your fingers ( good to switch off) and they will escape if you don't have someone else there holding them. I also used thick yarn as the string just to do something different.

I am excited to share more details about this shower in the next few days. Including a DIY for the favors!

Ice Lanterns

Oh my! Doesn't this make you want to get married in the Winter?! Ice Lanterns are a concept I never even knew existed until today. Wouldn't it be just lovely for your guest to enter your venue on a pathway lined with these? Spring is fast approaching but look how pretty?!!!?!!!

Is it a succulent? Is it a candle?

Succulent's remind me of my childhood, we had dozens upon dozens of them at our house. These candles are so cute and look so real!
