I am in love with Malia's seed packet favors! They are so cute! And she made all 160 of them. Way to go Malia, you are an awesome DIY'er.

I received a few inquiries on how I did the favor bag for Lisa's bridal shower, so here it is!
I had a budget for this shower and when I got down my list to favors, I had about $25 left. For 25 guests, it's a challenge to find something half decent for $1 a favor! I will also add that I didn't want to spend more than two hours of time on it ! This this the DIY I came with....
DIY Favor Bags
Materials-
Brown paper bags (I used mini ones found at Beverly's or Micheal's...you can certainly use lunch size brown bags)
1/4-1/2 yard of print fabric (depending on how many favors you are making)
Cream colored/white paper 5-6 sheets (depending on number of favors)
Pinking Shears (or sharp decorative cut paper scissors)
Regular Scissors
Computer and Printer
Tacky glue.
Scrapbook paper with small repeat graphic (like an owl or bird, heart, etc) that coordinates with fabric.
Double stick tape
Cut out your fabric with pinking shears into square or rectangles.
Place glue on the top and bottom edges of the fabric and place onto center of the bag.
Compile guest list on Word document, spread the names out so you have some room between each name, print and cut out names leaving extra space of each side of guests name.
Fold ends of each cut out name and tuck under left and right (unglued) edges of the fabric. Dab glue on the bottom of the tucked in paper to secure in place.
Cut out the images from your scrapbook sheet and glue one above the guests name or anywhere you wish!
You can download the sign that I used for a nominal fee here, which we filled with the text "It was a Treat having you!" We did this message because we put a chocolate covered Rice Krispie Treats (recipe below) in each bag. Cut these signs/labels out and using double stick tape, crisscross the tape on the Back of the cut out making a label. Place the treat/favor in your bag and seal with your label!
I hung these on a large slanted chalk board using Jute (a type of string) and clothespins. Get creative and arrange any way you want!
Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treats:
Prepare a batch of Rice Krispie treats (1 batch per 10 favors) per the directions on a Rice Krispie Box. Slice into 10 rectangles.
In addition you will need (for each batch of 10 favors)- 3/4 bag of milk or semi sweet chocolate chips (milk chocolate can be used if your preference) and 1 stick of butter . You may need more butter depending on brand of chocolate, you're looking for a smooth consistency, if clumpy and an effort to stir, add more butter and melt into chocolate, stirring constantly.
Lay out sheets of wax paper, this is where the chocolate covered treats will dry.
Melt the butter and chocolate chips in a small saucepan, stirring constantly until melted. Remove from heat.
Take a rectangle treat and dip 1/3-1/2 way into the chocolate, remove, then shake sprinkles on the treat (away from your pot of chocolate) and set on the wax paper to dry They should be dry in about an hour or two, chocolate should dry till firm and not severely smudge when you touch it.
Wrap with parchment paper (wrap like a present) or Saran Wrap and your done! I recommend Saran Wrap if you're making a day ahead.
